Escape! Crandon Golf Course at Key Biscayne is the perfect alternative to civilization. Spend a day enveloped by the tropics - this course is an explosion of color and light surrounded by water, mangrove forest and lush, tropical foliage. You can experience the local wildlife in their natural habitat too! You'd never guess Crandon could be so secluded and inviting and still be so close to downtown Miami and the airport. Beauty isn't the only draw, added to its natural splendor, Crandon presents a true test of any golfer's skill. Von Hagge and Devlin designed it that way - a challenge from the first hole, a dogleg par 5 that requires a drive over water and mangroves - through to the eighteenth, another par 5 with sparkling Biscayne Bay on one side of the fairway and a serene saltwater lake on the other side.

Great municipal course but operation is not top tier. Watch out for public tournaments - we had a 5 hour round. Also watch out for $100 minimum to take a caddie - really isn't necessary on this public course. Experience is hit and miss depending on the day.
