About The Shoals Golf Club- Fighting Joe Course
The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals is home to two 18-hole championship courses and lies between the Wheeler and Wilson dams on the Tennessee River. Wheeler Dam is named in honor of General Joseph "Fighting Joe" Wheeler - the only Confederate General to attain the same rank later in the United States Army. The Fighting Joe course at The Shoals was the first Trail course to break 8,000 yards. Travel + Leisure Golf named Fighting Joe one of the top new courses in 2004. The second course, the Schoolmaster (named for President Woodrow Wilson who was responsible for getting Wilson Dam built and was also known as "The Schoolmaster" of politics), opened in the Summer of 2005. The Fighting Joe is long, really long, and this links style course is simply good straight-forward golf. Some say the spectacular 17th hole is the signature hole on the course, but the 18th green overlooking the Tennessee River will distract you with its beauty, if not its treachery.

Robert Trent Jones Trail imposes a strict deposit and cancellation policy. These policies will supersede the policies of the Tour Operator. A deposit of $150 per person is due at booking for any Robert Trent Jones Trail packages. Any cancellations, full or partial, are 100% refundable if cancelled 31 days or more prior to arrival. Any cancellations within 30 days -16 days prior to arrival will forfeit $75 per golfer. Any cancellations within 15 days or less prior to arrival forfeit $100 per golfer. Full payment due by 30 days prior to arrival. Any hotel stay cancelled within 48 hours of arrival will forfeit the first night’s stay plus tax. Any golf cancellations made on the day of play will be issued a rain check. — 1/1/2020 - 12/31/2029
